When Can You See the Northern Lights?
The aurora season in Lapland lasts from late August until early April. The best chances are usually in September–October, during the darkest winter months (December–February), and again in March, when the nights are still dark but the skies often clearer. The lights most often appear between 9 PM and 2 AM, when the sky is at its darkest and far from artificial light. The longer you stay, the greater your chance of witnessing this Arctic magic.
